The Women’s Flyweight Championship bout is to be between the current champion Valentina Shevchenko and Jessica Eye. Shevchenko has to come out victorious out of this one if she wants to hold on to her belt.

UFC 238 Main Event: Henry Cejudo vs Marlon Moraes
Cejudo hasn’t had a fight in this weight class since his UFC debut in 2014, however, without putting his body through the rigors of a weight cut he will enter the Octagon more perilous than any of his other recent fights. He started off this year with a 32-second knockout of bantamweight champion T.J. Dillashaw to effectively guard his flyweight crown. Cejudo has a track record of brilliant KOs and considering that he has a height advantage over Moraes, we might see him going for another KO this Saturday.
Moraes is known to throw some powerful and unexpected jabs himself, which can cause a great deal of damage with the right timing. Cejudo, however, prefers to preserve his energy for his signature power strikes. Moraes seems to have the more diverse fighting arsenal, with frequent attacks to the head, body, and legs.
Something else we should note: Cejudo is an Olympic gold medalist in wrestling. Moraes, on the other hand, has some of the best jiu-jitsu in the division. Both fighters know exactly who they’re fighting against, so we can surely expect them to pull some unexpected moves against each other.
Valentina Shevchenko vs Jessica Eye
Both Shevchenko and Jessica Eye are both extremely skilled fighters but just based on their stats, this won’t be the most optimal fight. Regardless, Shevchenko is sure to do anything it takes to defend her current title. She seems to have an advantage when it comes to takedowns, power shots, submission attempts, and taking opponents down from a distance. She also does a better job when it comes to dodging her opponents’ shots, which is a huge advantage in the octagon. Eye only has the advantage in terms of two of the metrics: body power and head jabs. Taking all that into consideration, Shevchenko is very likely to hold on to her belt after this fight.
After that huge UFC scandal in early April (Dillashaw getting suspended for two years by USADA), this event is a great opportunity to bring all fans together. So get your friends together, dim the lights, and pick who you’re cheering for because this event is sure to keep you on the edge of your seat.
